About

Marlie Schattevoet

As a child, I grew up in the Netherlands and only spoke and read the Dutch language. Because I was frequently ill during my childhood, I had to spend a lot of time inside the house. I tried to fill the social void by watching a lot of television and reading as many books as I could. At that time, English shows, films and books were up-and-coming and quickly became my favourite pastime.

This is where my love for the English language began. I’ve always dreamt of writing my own stories, where children and grown-ups could find a safe haven and sometimes an escape from the reality of life.

I have been and still am working as a teacher, which I love very much. But my dream to write books has always been dear to my heart.

A few years ago, the world came to a standstill as Covid took over. Finding myself without a job and forced to stay indoors, like so many others, gave me a chance to focus on following that dream. This is when I started Willow’s journey.

It’s been an absolute joy to delve into her world and I can’t wait to continue writing the next parts, as I know that her story has only just begun and there is so much more to explore.

Thank you for reading this book! I couldn’t have done it without a lot of support and encouragement.

I truly hope that you will love Willow and her story as much as I do.

Lots of love,

M.S. Hooks
